XXL Freshmen 2015 is coming and the freshman hopefuls are gearing up to possibly make this year’s class. With the10th Spot voting happening now, we have to let the potentials tell us why they should appear on this year’s cover.

Atlantic Records signee, Kap G released his debut project, Like A Mexican, in March of 2014. The effort entailed what many would deem Kap's break-out effort, the  "Tatted Like Amigos (remix)" featuring Wiz Khalifa and Kirko Bangz. During his brief time in the spotlight, Kap has excessively pushed his platform as a vessel to express the oppressions faced by Mexican-Americans. Raised in  College Park by Mexican immigrants,  Kap G proudly flaunts his heritage, deeming himself as the voice for his people. Kap G has recently been in the studio with Pharrell Williams. “Pharrell was saying I’d be the voice for the Mexicans,” Kap told Buzzfeed. “The Mexicans who work at the hotel, who do the housekeeping, who work in the kitchen, he’s like, ‘You’re putting on for them, the people who get disrespected who gotta wake up and do that every day.’ He was telling me like, ‘They gonna love you, cause you’re really speaking out for them." Watch above as he tells us why he should appear on the coveted XXL Freshmen list.

The XXL Freshmen 10th Spot will run from March 16 to March 22. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into XXL Freshmen Class.
