Today, May 20, is the birthday of Brooklyn rapper Busta Rhymes. The rap legend is now 46.

Busta is a legend when it comes to this thing called hip-hop. Rocking the airwaves since 1992, Busta Rhymes has undeniably remained a staple of hip-hop for the last 22 years.

A platinum selling MC, 11-time Grammy nominated artist, and even a major motion picture actor Busta Rhymes has made countless contributions to hip-hop over the years. Busta was a member of Long Island hip-hop crew Leaders of the New School, has collabed with hip-hop legends like Notorious B.I.G, Chuck D, and A Tribe Called Quest and started his own record label Conglomerate. With his signature vocals, crazy adlibs and sick flow, Busta has proved his longevity in the game for more than 25 years. Last fall, Busta contributed his talents to A Tribe Called Quest's final album We Got It From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service and performed songs of the LP on Saturday Night Live and The 2017 Grammy Awards.

While Busta hasn't dropped an album since 2012, he's kept himself busy in other ways. Ahead of the 2018 Super Bowl, he acted as a rap coach for Peter Dinklage in a hilarious Mountain Dew and Doritos commercial. He's also reportedly been in the studio with Ski Mask The Slump God, a new generation tongue-twister from his own artistic fabric. Busta's influence continues.

Happy Birthday, Busta!
