Today, Dec. 14, marks the 27th birthday of Offset, who makes up one-third of Migos, the most dominant group the rap world's seen in some time.

Born Kiari Kendrell Cephus in Lawrenceville, Ga. 27 years ago, Offset first made a name for himself by forming Migos with his close relatives Quavo and Takeoff. After the group dropped a string of hit singles like the Drake-remixed "Versace," "Hannah Montana," and "Fight Night"— and spending some time in jail — Offset reached a new level of rap stardom upon the release of Migos' "Bad and Boujee" and the subsequent dropping of the trio's Culture album.

With a mix of anthemic bangers and dynamic flows, Culture elevated everyone in Migos, but it's hard to say any one of them benefited more than Offset in 2017, who dropped one tight guest verse after the other throughout most of last year. His verse on Gucci Mane's "Met Gala" is a big reason the track ended up on XXL's list of 2017's 50 best songs.

Attention-clenching guest verses and the collective success of Migos aside, 2017 was made even more grand with the release of a highly acclaimed collab album in Without Warning along side Metro Boomin and 21 Savage, and of course, by his romance with the ascendant Cardi B.

The two would quickly become hip-hop's hottest couple, and on Oct. 27, 2017, he proposed to her in front of a massive audience at Philadelphia's Powerhouse 99 concert. As it turned out, the on-stage proposal was just a formality, since it was revealed back in June of this year that the hip-hop power couple actually legally tied the knot in September of 2017. The marriage announcement came just two weeks prior to another major life moment for Offset and Bardi, who welcomed their newborn baby girl, Kulture Kiari Cephus, into the world on July 10, 2018. Unfortunately, the seemingly in love couple recently have gone their separate ways after just over one year of marriage, much to the disappointment of fans and the industry alike.

If 2017 served as a breakthrough year for Offset's next-level rise to fame, 2018 is the one that solidified the Migos member as one of the most prominent figures in the current climate of Hip-Hop. Kicking off the year with the release of Migos' certified platinum album, Culture II, 'Set made headlines left and right throughout the entire year, being virtually everywhere from the runway at New York Fashion Week to The Tonight Show stage, drippin' too hard next to "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, to a massive 41-date co-headlining tour with Drake.

Here at the tail end of 2018, the "Ric Flair Drip" rapper's banner year isn't even done yet, as 'Set says his debut solo album is on the way. The album reportedly offers a lot of insight into the rapper's personal life, touching on a number of things that have happened to Offset recently. "I'm talking about relevant situations that have occurred over the last 18 or 24 months, like me being in the crash, my kids, my family time and me being married," he explained. "There's different parts of my life. The ups and downs of being in music, the feeling of people doubting me and being the underdog to becoming the big dog."

With all of that being just the tip of the iceberg when talking about the year that was for Offset, it's no wonder that he and the rest of his Migos brethren are set to grace the cover of XXL's Winter 2018 Issue, which is due out on newsstands everywhere on Dec. 31. 'Set insists that Migos are the "biggest group in the world to ever exist," and after the year they've had, there's a serious argument to be made that backs that bold statement up.

Clearly, Offset is at the top of his game, living his absolute best life, and XXL wishes him nothing but the best as he turns 27.

Happy Birthday Offset, and here's to many more!
