Kanye West Splits With Manager Scooter Braun

Kanye West is gearing up for a new album, but the Chicago rapper will be working on the project without a manager.

According to an April 24 report from Billboard, Yeezy has parted ways with manager Scooter Braun, who had been managing the rapper for two and a half years. The companies of West and Braun will continue to work together though.

A source says the move came after Kanye's recent decision to "leave the traditional music business" and added that the rapper had told some associates that he wants to change his whole operation to in-house. Yeezy reportedly did invite Braun's team to continue working with him full time but the manager declined.

On Wednesday (March 25), The Life of Pablo artist confirmed the news, tweeting, "I no longer have a manager. I can't be managed." In a separate tweet, the rapper wrote, "I'm nobody's 'client.'"

The move comes a few weeks after West split from his other manager, Izvor "Izzy" Zivkovic. While Zivkovic had worked with Yeezy for nearly 10 years, the manager often kept a low profile and was rarely seen. The reason for their split was unknown at the time of reports.

In related news, along with his own upcoming album, Kanye is also reportedly working on projects from Nas and Pusha T. In tweets posted on April 22, Yeezy claimed he's "hand producing" albums from Pusha and Esco and revealed the Pusha T album will release on May 25, while Nas' record will drop on June 15.
