Black Thought is the undefeated king of freestyling, but it looks like he has his sights on something more concrete. The hip-hop veteran took to Twitter on Friday (May 25) to announce that he's planning a project with 9th Wonder & The Soul Council that will be titled Streams of Thought Vol. 1. In addition, he shared that the project will drop on June 1.

He didn't share many more details, but it's guaranteed to be an example of lyrical perfection. With only a few days for fans to hypothesize about what to expect, many fans have expressed how overwhelmed they are with all the new music. The same day of Black Thought's announcement, Pusha-T dropped first album in three years, Daytona, and A$AP Rocky shared his album Testing.

With his legendary group The Roots, Black Thought has certainly stayed busy over the years, especially with their standing gig as the resident band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Despite staying relatively quiet in producing his own music, he dropped a legendary freestyle at Hot 97 with Funkmaster Flex in December 2017 to let the people know he still has bars—and he didn't disappoint. Rapping for 10 straight minutes over the classic Mobb Deep beat "The Learning (Burn)," his flawless lyricism has led the video to garner more than 4 million views.
