YNW Melly is still getting off new material amid serious legal issues. A couple days after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, the Florida rapper puts out the video for "Mama Cry" on Friday (Feb. 15).

Coincidentally, the song finds the rapper trying to comfort his mom dukes while he does a prison bid. "Mama please don't you cry, I'm sorry/I just caught some time, I'll be home soon," he rhymes on the chorus. "It won't be long, I promise/I will be okay, just wipe those/Tears off of your face, I'm sorry/I won't right my wrongs, I'm guilty/Lord have mercy, please forgive me/Mama please don't you cry, I'm sorry."

In the video, the rapper prepares to do prison time and spends his last moments with his mother. From there, multiple stories of inmates are shown. Melly reflects on his own circumstances while wearing an orange state-issued jump suit in a prison yard.

"Tryna walk a narrow straight path is a battle," he rhymes. "Kinda hard to walk when you're chained in shackles/My soul bleeds through these four walls/My heart aches after phone calls."

The video and track are even more stunning considering Melly's current situation. Earlier this week, he turned himself into the police after being charged with two counts of murder along with a friend, Cortlen Henry. Miramar, Fla. police believe the two men are responsible for the shooting deaths of 21-year-old Anthony Williams and 19-year-old Christopher Thomas Jr., on Oct. 26, 2018. They are accused of setting the murder up to look like a drive-by occurred and even publicly mourning the victims as to not draw suspicion. Melly has been denied bail.
