6ix9ine Plans to Go Back to the Studio After Prison Release: Report
6ix9ine isn't free yet, but he's already preparing to revive his music career once he gets out prison.
According to a report Page Six published Wednesday night (Oct. 9), a music insider says the Brooklyn rapper is planning to head to the studio to record new music as soon as he's released from prison. The gossip outlet says 6ix9ine has been in contact with a producer from New York City and has already made moves to secure at least two beats.
“It looks like he will be making music right away when he comes home,” the source told Page Six. “He already contacted a young NYC producer, and someone purchased two beats for him.”
While this report might not sound all that far-fetched, 6ix9ine nor any of his representatives had spoken on the matter of his post-federal custody career and getting accurate information that doesn't come directly from the rapper can be hard. A couple of weeks ago, Page Six erroneously claimed that the rainbow-haired rapper testified that Cardi B was a Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods member in his testimony during the trial of his two former associates Anthony "Harv" Ellison and Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack.
That said, this report does corroborate TMZ's previous report that indicated that Tekashi was planning to reject the witness protection program and resume his music career. The site also said that he believed he could be more popular than ever after his release.
The last project 6ix9ine delivered was his Dummy Boy album, which arrived while he was incarcerated on Nov. 27, 2018. The album boasts features guests like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Gunna and more. Naturally, 6ix9ine has been more focused on getting out of prison than making music over the last year.
Now that his high-profile testimony against his former associates is in the past, 6ix9ine is pushing to receive his sentence sooner than expected. According to court documents obtained by XXL on Tuesday (Oct. 8), the embattled rapper's sentencing has been scheduled for Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. EST, which is more than a month before his original release date of Jan. 24, 2020.
XXL has reached out to 6ix9ine's lawyers for comment.
